Social networks and online games comprise nearly one third of the total time Americans spend on the Web, according to new data from Nielsen. Time spent playing online games has grown 10% in the past year, surpassing email (which Americans today spend 28% less time with than they did in 2009). Entertainment including video and movies, meanwhile, takes up only 6.7%. More on the Nielsen data at All Things Digital, which points out the findings are obviously good news for the likes of Facebook and Zynga.
